FAQs
Do you have questions or want to know what to expect? Here are some FAQs to help ease your mind.
What should I expect during my first visit?
I will listen and discuss all of your pain, issues, fears, and GOALS. I will then assess and test what is logical and we will go over a few exercises to help. We will then come up with a treatment plan to help you reach your goal.
What do I need for my Teletherapy
appointment?
You will need a quiet space on the floor to work. A yoga mat would be beneficial as well as a pillow or towel (to roll up) or yoga block. You also need internet and camera access to allow for the ability to do Teletherapy.
Will I need a follow up appointment?
Most likely yes! This way I can give you feedback to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly and to progress you when needed. Think about it.......your body did carry a baby for 9 months we will probably need at least 5-10 sessions to reach your goal.
Do you take my insurance?
Happy Core Happy Floor PT is considered out of network or self pay. This way you get the personal care you deserve and are the center of attention during your session, which means you recover faster. You can be provided a Super Bill upon request.
What is an internal exam and do I need one?
An internal exam is where a pelvic floor physical therapist will assess your pelvic floor muscles/perineal area internally using tactile assessment. This may be necessary or very helpful to assess and complete in order to reach your goal. However, this is not possible during your scheduled Telehealth appointment. We will try to get you to reach your goals before discussing an internal exam.
How do I know I should see a pelvic floor therapist or that it's a pelvic floor problem?
If you are pregnant or have ever had a baby, whether it be vaginal or C-section, you NEED to see a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. Your body goes through amazing changes and you should seek assistance in recovery and healing, just as you would for any other body injury. If you are having issues with bowels, leaking, or pain you should see a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. Your pelvic floor is connected to your whole body....even your big toe, therefore it is all related somehow.
Do I need a script?
No. No script is needed as New York State allows 30 days of therapy services. However, if your treatment plan lasts longer than 30days your therapist will discuss this with you and request a script from your primary doctor.
What is your cancelation policy?
We require 24hrs notice to cancel your appointment. Your recovery is dependent on your commitment to your care and we have committed that time to you as well. Because we have reserved that time especially for you, we do charge a half rate cancellation fee. Therefore, if you no show, or cancel in less than 24hr we charge you half of what your visit that day would have been. We are considerate of family and medical circumstances.
Why do you require a credit card on file?
We require a credit card on file to reserve your appointment time. Your credit card will only be charged for no shows or cancelation fee or upon request at time of treatment. You are able to pay by alternate payment at time of service if desired.
